Year 12 Retreat

Each year, students in year 12 attend a three-day Retreat at the Alexandra Conference Centre, Alexandra Headlands. The Retreat gives the year 12 students an opportunity to come together and develop group cohesion, which is an important step in their role as the Senior class of the year and leaders of the student community. The students also have an opportunity to reflect on their own life journey and how they will develop a sense of direction, meaning and purpose in their own lives.

Mr Michael Fitzpatrick presents one day of the program. An experienced presenter, Michael quickly puts students at ease and then helps them to explore the various challenges they face as individuals and as a group.Together they develop alternatives that will allow the students to achieve the best from their senior year and the years beyond. Other sessions on the Retreat offered by staff from the College give students the opportunity to explore the importance of family, of working together and of setting goals and directions for themselves. There are, of course, times of prayer and reflection as well as time to relax and have some fun.

For many of our students, the year 12 Retreat offers a rare time to share friendships, build community, learn more about themselves and examine their beliefs and values. The generosity of our staff is pivotal in the capacity to run this meaningful and enjoyable experience for our students.
