The role of the resource centre at St Michael's College is to help teach the research skills necessary to facilitate life-long learning and encourage students to enjoy reading in a friendly, harmonious, Catholic community, which embraces courage, integrity, dedication, justice, respect and protection for all.
Facilities to be found in the Resource Centre include:
- Library One – An area used for classroom teaching during class-time and by students during break-time for quiet research and homework activities.
- Seminar Rooms 1 and 2 – These rooms are used for small group activities during class-time including Distance Education and Study Line students and are available to all students at break-time.
- Quiet Reading Area – A nice space for students to relax during break-time with a good book or magazine.
Our Resource Centre (Library) is open to all year levels
from 3pm - 4pm Monday - Thursday. Our Resource Centre staff are available to work
with students to find resources and materials to assist with their assessments
and assignments.
Senior students are welcome to ask for advice at any time for information on referencing and research. Senior
students are also offered instruction during class time on how to prepare
reference lists, cite sources and become familiar with the State Library of
Queensland e-resources for assignment work.
